♫ Marcia Griffiths: Tell me now
67 D Sandringham Road, Dalston, Hackney, London E 8 – my transition-home in 1990/91. I worked in a snackbar-kitchen, 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, 2,50 £ per hour, no insurance. My job was to prepare cheese-tomato-sandwiches. Apart from that, I went out dancing often, learned some Nigerian words and let a fortune teller read my palm for the first time. One year later, I started to study political science and sociology. Hackney made me erwachsen, I like the people. And I hope they stop destroying modest homes and small shops there. The aggression is heading in the wrong direction, oh-so-definitely.
